Who does not want to read this simply for the title alone????? James Cox is the King of Outrage and never lets us down.His writing is funny and quirky and this one follows suit. Vern, Ale,and Rei are friend at a bar where they make money shaking their "ass"ets and serving people alcohol. They all have their own dreams they want to do, like own their own bar, or get a pilots license or be a chef. The only thing stopping them....money.
So when a Captain offers them a good deal of money to entertain his crew, it was something they could not pass up. So the trio makes up little skits and cooks dinner, including their last encode which includes little chefs hats on their...ahem....other head.
My favorite line in the book....
Well f**k the Universe.Now we were standing in enemy territory with nothing but Chefs hats over our dicks.... and mine was ripped.
As the story goes on the trio realize their affection for each other and when an unforseen separation occurs, a pact is made to wait for sexual contact. So you can imagine if you have ever read a James Cox book or actually just ever been in a young man's room that has had to go without for awhile, when the 3 reconnect, it is rather messy and sexy and squishy!
Another 5 star book for the King!

James always provides a fun sci-fi adventure and this one is no exception. Once you get past your appreciation of the title of course D.
The world building was detailed without being overcomplicated making it easy to dive right into the story and understand where the characters are coming from. The story is written from Vern’s perspective and his character was extremely likable, charming and deliciously horny. He’s an aspiring chef who’s working as a stripper/waiter to earn enough to finish his training. He works closely with Ale and Rei. Ale is a big ol’ hunk of a man that Vern has a crush on and he’s a bit of a mystery. Rei is a pilot in training who’s working his way through training just like Vern. The three have great chemistry on the surface and once the story really gets going the physical attraction moves into something much sweeter and deeper. James threw in just enough feels to take the story from pure sci-fi campy fun to something more.
James writes a damn fine menage relationship. His characters are all very unique so you don’t get them muddled during sexy times and he doesn’t discount the feelings that each has for one another. They are different, but no less important. Vern feels differently for Ale than he does for Rei, doesn’t make it any less significant, but it’s unique and I think that’s why they work for me.
The adventure was great fun and his hero’s always have the charm and “accidental luck” that make them great to read. They aren’t perfect and no victory comes easy, that’s what makes them all the more heroic in my book. They are regular horny guys in an extraordinary situation.
The ending was delicious as I was expecting from the title and I liked reading how the guys had evolved and come together after all the shenanigans were played out.
Dick, It's What's For Dinner was so unexpected and I ate it up! The blurb intrigued me-menage, spaceships, and with a title like that? Gosh I knew I had to read it!
“Things didn’t go quite as planned. I was in enemy hands, I was only wearing a miniature chef’s hat over my dick, and I was about to be shot out of the spaceship. Nope, didn’t go as planned…”
With an intro like that? I was hooked. So I jumped on the rollercoaster and boy was it a ride!
Vern lives above the Central Planet on the Sphere. He has dreams of being a famous chef known across the galaxies for his flair for food. As he attends cooking school classes, he works to pay the bills with his two best friends, Ale and Rei, at a bar where sexy stripping goes along with the serving of drinks. When Ale proposes the three of them take a job cooking, dancing, and serving on a military ship for a huge payout, they decide to go. Vern intends to use the pay for more cooking classes, Ale wants to open a bar, and Rei wants to finish getting his pilot license. Once there, things are going very well! The men and women on the ship are not only enjoying the show, they are loving the food Vern comes up with. When the Captain asks the trio to dance and cook naked for extra coin, they decide to accept the offer. Which is how Vern, Ale, and Rei find themselves in the messed up situation quoted above!
Well this book was definitely not what I expected! What I got was so much more! This is my first book by James Cox and I love the way he writes! It's fresh, flirty, and very funny! The blurb was all over the place and I wasn't expecting the author to be able to deliver on everything the blurb touches on! Boy was I wrong! This story had me glued till the end! The sexy banter was dripping with insinuation. The random scenes were hilarious and literally had me bust out laughing! The cooking shows were hot! But it was the silliness that draws you in and keeps you hooked-even when serious situations occur!
“You are the most annoying strippers I have ever met.”
There are a couple of scenes that just take the cake-the futuristic orgasm mobile was hand-down the best! Totally unexpected from the way you think it will go, and I loved it. The other- in the midst of a daring rescue- the scene with Vern and the jet boots, brings humor to an otherwise serious situation. It's these unexpected directions in the story that endear me to James Cox.
Overall this is a fun and flirty read! It does have its sweet and serious scenes between the best friends. The feelings are real and very believable. The love these three feel is evident from the beginning. When their individual dreams morph into a shared one, I know we have more adventures ahead! I wholeheartedly recommend this book! James Cox has a good start to a series. I know I want to see what hilarious situations they find themselves in next!

Another wonderful book by an amazing writer. Once I opened the book I didn't want to put it down. I'm sad that I read it so fast. This is one book that I will recommend to my friends.
Bought it for the title. Found out it was a really good read. Enjoyable characters and an original story. This was a really good read.
I can always count on James Cox to take me on an adventuress journey into space with the hottest horniest men! His story's are hot, sexy, fun and intriguing! A must read! I loved it!
